The Axe is a Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and Cask Marque accredited pub.

We have a 5 Star rated Cellar by Cask Marque and have been in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for the last 10 years.

We have won the Exeter & East Devon CAMRA National Beer Scoring System in 2021, 2024 and 2025 - this is out of over 600 pubs and we had the honour to be crowned CAMRA Pub of the Year in 2022 and have been runners up twice.

We have Won the Palmers Brewery Master Cellarman of the Year (or tied in first place) every year since 2017, which consits of several rigorous unannounced checks throughout the year of the 50 plus Palmers Pubs.
